There’s No Such Thing as Doing It All – But Here’s What You Can Do

Recently, as I was settling back in to work after a vacation, I told myself it’s really important that I try to get back into a healthy routine in tandem with navigating my challenges around elder care and managing my own wellbeing in the midst of COVID and the racial justice movement. And it was shortly after this that I received a message on social media that made me take a step back and reflect.

The message was this: “How do you do it, Ritu? You react and respond to all these messages, do a whole lot of webinaring, and quite obviously live your life. What’s the secret?”

The reason this message made me think is that, in that moment, I felt like I was doing a lousy job at keeping my metaphorical balls in the air. Rather than feeling like I was “doing it all”, I felt like I was maybe doing too much or not doing it all very well. It got me thinking, and I wanted to share a few things that I think are really important about the perception of “doing it all”.

In this video, I talk about how there is no such thing as “doing it all” and the tools I use to do my best instead even when life feels overwhelming.
