When you see a homeless person on the street, do you acknowledge them or ignore them? When you get onto an elevator, do you say hello to the person standing there or do you avoid eye contact? If you’re at the office late and the cleaners arrive, do you say hello or do you disregard their presence?
So many of us wish that we lived in a kinder, happier, nicer, better world. We want to do better, but sometimes what exactly to do escapes us.
Here’s something I’ve learned through my work: working to make the world a kinder place doesn’t mean having to drop everything to do something huge. And in fact, it’s the smaller, simpler acts of opening ourselves up to others, including people we don’t know, that has the power to change our lives and our world for the better.
In this video, I share with you the one simple and small behavioral shift that you can make after today that has the power to create a kinder, more inclusive world.
